The 26th

Gretta seemed to be on the mend all Christmas day, so anxious to be with family, we headed to St. George early in the morning on the 26th.
We needed to make it to Papa's by 9:30, so we were in the car by 5, and I think we were all feeling it.
We made it about 10 just in time for breakfast and then we sat around to open gifts.
Papa sure spoiled us this year!

Everything was so beautifully wrapped thanks to Papa and Terri spending hours and hours gifting to perfection. It made it almost a shame to unwrap anything it was all so pretty.

Lexi was so excited to open up a Mary Poppins doll. She has been begging for one and is quite obsessed with the movie. We all are.

All the kids (minus the mathews) got some wood blocks. I think Shawn and I are even more excited for these than our kids. We are loving these babies! Thank you Papa!!

Lexi gave one of her special handmade bracelets to Terri.
I'm pretty sure it made her day. :)
Papa got some "medal scales" (look like rulers to me) that Shawn assured me he would love.
There were many surprises...
like a DSLR for Trent...
and some tools for Nick...
But the ultimate surprise (my opinion)...
was a LEGO table for us!!!!!

To fully appreciate this surprise you would have to understand the family feud that has been going on for months. Here it is in a nutshell...
Shawn had a lego table growing up that he LOVED. Played with it for hours building cities in Highschool (Legos at 17?? another reason I love him.) When he left on his mission he gave/let borrow (depending on who you talk to) his legos and table to sister Julie and her boys. Well then Roscoe came along years later who seems to have the same constructing passion as his daddy, so Shawn wanted the table back (Indian giver that he is. :)) The Mathews family wasn't having that...Thus the feud. Haha. Not really. Well kind of...
Anyways, Papa Dennis got word of this and since he was the original giver of the infamous table (his employee handmade it) he pulled some strings and got another one made for us.
Yipee!!!!! We are sooo excited...
for the lego table and also being able to speak to the Mathews family again.
(totally kidding. we all still loved eachother regardless of the legos.)
You're the best Papa!

It was such a wonderful morning and we were definitely spoiled.
It sure felt like Christmas and we were so grateful to finally not be missing out on all the Patten festivities. Thanks for a beautiful morning Papa!

After some hugs and kisses we headed over to Grammy and Papa Duane's for more showers of gifts. My camera died right when we got there. Blast. But here is a short little rundown...
I got some mixing bowls that I love. They seriously are amazing! We received gift cards (one to Costco. Yay!) Money for Shawn and many other gifts that we loved.
And of course like always, Grammy went all out on the kiddos.
dolls. cars. art supplies. books. diapers.
Just to name a few.
Lexi surprised Grammy with a bracelet and Roscoe gave Papa Duane some fruit and sweetened condensed milk (his favorite).

Afterwards Shawn and I gave the kiddos kisses and carted Gretta along to Vegas for an anniversary celebration! We left feeling very blessed.
Thank you!!!
